Maryland Black Bear Lottery Now Open - Aug. 02, 2010
Annapolis, Md. (August 2, 2010) -The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is now accepting applications to participate in this year's lottery for black bear hunting permits. Applications issued will be valid for this year?s black bear hunting season, which will take place October 25 through October 30.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will begin accepting applications to participate in this year?s lottery for black bear hunting permits on Monday, August 2. Applications issued will be valid for this year?s black bear hunting season, which will take place October 25 through October 30.

Maryland Black Bear Hunt Closed - Oct. 30, 2009
OAKLAND, MD - The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) announced the conclusion of the 2009 black bear hunting season. The season opened Monday, October 26 in Garrett and Allegany counties. The hunt was officially closed Thursday, October 29, at 9:00 p.m. with 68 bears reported to mandatory check stations in Western Maryland.

Black Bear Hunting Permit Applications To Be Accepted By Phone - Aug. 31, 2009
Annapolis, MD - On August 24, 2009, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will begin accepting phone-in applications from hunters wishing to participate in this year?s black bear hunting permit lottery. Applications will be accepted over the phone between 9:00 AM and 5:30 PM from August 24 through August 28, 2009 ONLY. Applicants may call 1-888-579-6768 to apply. Maryland?s black bear hunting season occurs October 26-31, 2009 in Garrett and Allegany counties.
